Why exact age matters
Job applications, school admissions, visa forms and government documents often ask for your age in years, months and days rather than just years. Working that out by hand across leap years is easy to get wrong, so this tool does it for you.
The calculation counts calendar months rather than assuming every month has the same length, which is why February birthdays and leap days still produce the right answer. Total days are also shown, which is useful for eligibility rules that are counted in days rather than years.
One caveat: your age depends on today's date in your local time zone. Close to midnight, or if your device is set to another region, the result may differ by a day from an official record.
Why exact age matters for forms
Government and job forms usually ask for age as on a cut-off date, not your age today. That is why this calculator has an "as on" field: set it to the last date for the application and you get the exact figure the form expects. The same applies to school admission cut-offs and some visa categories. Use the “Calculate age as on” field to set the relevant cut-off date.

Leap year and birthday edge cases
If you were born on 29 February, the calculator counts your birthday on 28 February in non-leap years. Ages measured from a month end, for example 31 January to 28 February, are counted as complete months, which is how most institutions calculate them.
